Beam-Energy and System-Size Dependence of Dynamical Net Charge Fluctuations

چکیده
We present measurements of net charge fluctuations in Au + Au collisions at √ sNN = 19.6, 62.4, 130, and 200 GeV, Cu + Cu collisions at √ sNN = 62.4, 200 GeV, and p + p collisions at √ s = 200 GeV using the net charge dynamical fluctuations measure ν+−,dyn. The dynamical fluctuations are non-zero at all energies and exhibit a rather modest dependence on beam energy. We find that at a given energy and collision system, net charge dynamical fluctuations violate 1/Nch scaling, but display approximate 1/Npart scaling. We observe strong dependence of dynamical fluctuations on the azimuthal angular range and pseudorapidity widths.

Numerical Investigation of the Non-Uniformity of the Electric Field Distribution by Injection of Net Electron Charge in TE CO2 Laser
In this report, the distribution and deviation of electric field in the active medium of the TE CO2 laser has been investigated due to the injection of net electron charge beam as a plasma generator. Some parameters of system have been considered, such as density and mean-free-path of injected charge beam. The electric potential and electric field distribution have been simulated by solving the...
متن کاملAGeV/c in Pb+Au Collisions
Abstract. Event-by-event fluctuations of mean pT and net charge in 40, 80, and 158 AGeV/c Pb+Au collisions are presented. The observed dynamical mean pT fluctuations in central events of about 1 % are very similar to results from RHIC. The centrality dependence of mean pT fluctuations at 158 AGeV/c shows a peculiar nonmonotonic pattern with respect to the extrapolation from the fluctuations mea...
متن کاملEvent by event Net Charge Fluctuations
We present analyses of event-by-event dynamical net charge fluctuations measured in130 and 200 GeV Au Au collisions with the STAR detector. The dynamical net charge fluctuations are evaluated using the ν+−,dyn observable. Dynamical fluctuations measured in Au Au collisions at 130 and 200 GeV are finite, and exceed charge conservation limits. They deviate from a perfect 1/N scaling and provide a...
متن کاملEnergy and field size dependence of a silicon diode designed for small-field dosimetry
Purpose: To investigate the energy dependence/spectral sensitivity of silicon diodes designed for small-field dosimetry and obtain response factors (RFs) for arbitrary photon spectra using Monte Carlo (MC) simulations. Methods: The EGSnrc user-code DOSRZnrc was used to calculate the dose deposition in water and in the active volume of a stereotactic diode f...
